Spurtle…..what’s a spurtle? It’s a 15th century Scottish kitchen utensils, mainly used for stirring stews, porridge, etc. I made one years ago to mix dog food and it makes it so much easier to mix large or thick ingredients
I wanted a more manly option, so I whipped up this black walnut spurtle with skull burn. A little over 12” in length, it’s the perfect mixing utensil
Each utensil is treated with 100% tung oil mixed with citrus solvent…..the perfect food grade sealant for wood utensils. All utensils are allowed to cure for 30 days and ready for use.
How to care for your utensil:
Only hand wash! It should never go in a dishwasher
Soap and water should be sufficient for cleaning
Allow to dry vertically
If wood starts to dull, it’s time to wax
Apply a small amount of wax, let a few minutes go by and then buff
